Abstract: Many orphaned wells have been abandoned for decades and now present unique P&A challenges compared to wells that have been recently abandoned.  The Appalachian Basin magnifies the uniqueness of these challenges due to access constraints, downhole complications, and a complex stakeholder network. This talk will discuss key challenges in the Appalachian Basin from a contractor’s perspective.

Bio: Luke Plants is a 3rd generation owner and the Chief Operating Officer of Plants & Goodwin, a plug and abandonment contractor located in Bradford, Pennsylvania.
