Panel Event - Engineering Energy: Oil, Gas, & You

The University of Pittsburgh Society of Petroleum Engineers' annual professional networking event – Engineering Energy: Oil, Gas, & You will take place at the University Club at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, October 3rd, 2018Engineering Energy: Oil, Gas, & You will consist of three parts: 

  • A keynote speech delivered by Mr. Joseph Sites, President and CEO of Allied-Horizontal Wireline Services. Mr. Sites graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Chemical Engineering and pursued a career in the oil and gas industry. He had great success starting out with Schlumberger before moving on to management at J-W Wireline. He now has taken his dynamic leadership and vision to Allied-Horizontal Wireline.
  • A Q&A session with a panel of experts from the oil and gas industry. Panelists will take questions from students about the current state of the industry and predictions for the future, as well as provide their best advice for students getting ready to enter the workforce.
  • An exclusive technical career fair for students interested in the industry. Recruiters can expect to interact with students in the chemical, mechanical, and civil engineering programs. Students will range in ages from sophomores to seniors to graduate students, and who will be applying for internships, co-ops, and full-time positions. Light hors d'oeuvres and refreshments will be served during the entirety of the event.

There is no cost to attend the event; however, we would be grateful to have your company sponsorships of the Pitt SPE for the 2018-2019 academic year are available.
