Well Abandonment: Permanent Barriers Challenges and solutions
Abstract:
Permanent abandonment of wellbore is integral part of the well lifecycle that includes construct, operate, maintain, suspend, abandon. Abandonment starts with the construction of the well. The inventory of wells globally in land and offshore environment is growing and more focus is being put on proper abandonment.
Various regulatory authorities around the world have the guidelines governing and regulating the P&A activity.
The session will focus on discussing the various chemical, mechanical and innovative solutions available for permanent P&A of wellbore
Biography:
Bipin Jain is currently based in India as Cementing Well Integrity Technology Manager for Middle East and Asia. He started his career in Schlumberger as field engineer and for the last 28 years has worked in operations, Technical support, Product development in research Centre, New Technology deployment, Technology Hub. He will be soon moving to Paris as Global Domain Head. For his expertise in providing well integrity solutions in various challenging environments of Deep Water, HPHT, Flow hazards, he is recognized as an Advisor in Schlumberger Technical community.
He did his Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, India. He has been involved in writing various SPE papers and in conferences and ATW as committee member. He has arranged many Client Technology events at worldwide level in Paris and Middle East area.
