The California Department of Conservation, Division of Oil, Gas, and Geothermal Resources (DOGGR) regulates oil and gas operations in California. Dan Dudak will discuss the current activities and focus of DOGGR. The talk will include both the sub-surface and surface facilities.
Dan Dudak is Deputy Supervisor with the California Department of Conservation, Division of Oil, Gas, and Geothermal Resources (DOGGR), Southern District, which covers Los Angeles, Orange, San Diego, Riverside, San Bernardino, Inyo, and Imperial counties. Mr. Dudak has a long history in the energy sector working with the DOGGR in various leadership capacities and with the State Lands Commission in oil and gas leasing, production and development, and as geothermal program lead. Prior to state service, he worked in the private sector for Petroleum Testing Service, Inc. and Earth Technology Corporation’s Environmental Geomechanics Laboratory. Mr. Dudak holds a geology degree from Illinois State University and is a member of the Geological Society of America, the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, the Society of Petroleum Engineers, the Geothermal Resources Council, and is a Fellow with the Institute for the Advancement of Engineering. He has also served on the boards of LASPE and the California Geothermal Energy Collaborative.
