On July 26, 2019, SPE Java held a Technical Discussion Group (TDG) with Tubagus Reggie Rachman as the speaker with theme: “Industry 4.0 in Oil and Gas Applications: Intelligent Production Monitoring and Optimization System”.
Tubagus Reggie Rachman is a Petroleum Engineer SPE-Certified, currently employed as Manager New Field Resource Development in Medco E&P Natuna. He has worked extensively throughout Middle East, South East Asia and Central Asia as Petroleum Reservoir Engineer and Subsurface Head roles in Schlumberger, Qatar Petroleum, Chevron, Leap energy, Petronas and eventually joining Medco E&P Natuna in 2017. He has extensive exposure to Reservoir Engineering, Simulation, Field reviews, Merger & Acquisition and Field Development Planning in a variety of oil and gas settings.
The talk started with the speaker explanation. There are some key points of this talk, which are:
- Either Standalone or Cluster Development concept selection should be done from early phase of exploration or pre-development, economic needs to be run thoroughly with various Development Scenarios to determine reasonable MEFS (Minimum Economic Field Size) of the field
- Focus to mitigate a few “big hitters” uncertainty that have high impact on Field’s Revenue
- The Surveillance and Data Acquisition plan during development well drilling and production should be a key part of understanding and mitigating the field’s uncertainties
- Learn and Benchmark Field Performance and development strategy from Analog field
- Accelerate production with conventional and unconventional techniques, produce hydrocarbon at optimum economic plateau rate for Facility cost optimization
- Evaluate feasibility of utilizing minimal Platform/structure, facility sharing,equipment lease option and switch Facility design concept if required
After presentation, participants were asked to form a group and share their opinion about marginal field.
After the discussion, we end our masterclass session. Followed with SPE Java awarding night and last, dinner time! We had a great discussion and casual talk, together with our anniversary celebration. It was a blast!
