Welcome to my SPE Connect profile,
I would like to briefly introduce myself:
“We cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future.” (Franklin D. Roosevelt)
I grew up on a little farm with four sibblings and numerous animals, I enjoyed a beautiful childhood in a natural and vital environment. I really wish all children could experience a childhood like that.
"Whatever can happen will happen." (after Edward A.Murphy)
Life brought me in several challenging situations and taught me to always be prepared for sudden changes. Some solid plans went wrong, other unconventional ways were more successful.
"Life is what happens while busy making other plans" (John Lennon)
Many times I witnessed the crises of people, organisations and businesses. But after every walk through the valley I found myself back on top of the mountain with useful experiences, a different perspective and new inspiration.
"The lucky ones are curious" (Friedrich Nietzsche)
I am driven by curiosity. I always want to know how things work, and why. I continously ask myself what are the consequences when pushing things to the limit, and beyond... these "things" can be technical devices, people, natural phenomenons, or me.
This drive finally shifted my focus towards the natural sciences, towards geology.
“When I break a rock open with my pick, I'm a prophet. I see the past. I see the future. I know where the world is going, and where it's been. And I always, always want to know more.” (Christina Dodd)
For me geology is one of the most challenging, interdisciplinary and promising sciences.
I really like to contribute to the global and social challenges of the future ... but I will never forget my responsibility for the people and the environment.
