Abstract:

There are many challenges presenting in transporting H2 in existing natural gas networks.  This talk outlines a few of the technical challenges, shows how modelling software can help identify those challenges and allow for proper planning and operational strategies.

Speaker: Mangala Ngala

Mangala Ngala is the North Sea Engineering Manager in the Intelligent Operations team within the Applied Intelligence division of Wood plc. Mangala has worked in various Process and Flow Assurance engineering roles since joining Wood as a graduate in 2007 and holds a Masters Degree in Advanced Chemical Engineering from Imperial College, London.

Moderator: Gizem Ersoy-Gokcal

Gizem Ersoy-Gokcal is currently a New Operations Coordinator in ExxonMobil Upstream Oil and Gas Company. Gokcal has over 16 years of experience in multiphase flow research and oil/gas industry projects.  Last 10 years of professional experience has been focused on deep water greenfield and brownfield developments, identifying and assessing flow assurance challenges, optimizing and debottlenecking production and interfacing with subsea and chemical vendors. Gokcal is leading the flow assurance efforts for oil and gas production in Guyana. Gokcal also served in the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE)’s Flow Assurance Forum in various roles and currently in the leadership team of Society of Petroleum Engineer (SPE)’ Flow Assurance Technical Section. She holds a BS degree in petroleum and natural gas engineering from Middle East Technical University in Turkey, and MSc and PhD degrees in petroleum engineering from the University of Tulsa.
