Abstract:

This talk presents on how subsea processing technologies will be the enabling technologies for future ultra-deepwater field developments and long-distance tiebacks. This study identifies the gaps that need to be closed and decision-making process during the field development life cycle by considering both the technical and economic constraints of various subsea processing technologies. As E&P companies continue to struggle during these uncertain and dynamic times, the challenges associated with developing the deepwater fields are bound to escalate. Subsea processing technologies are the enabling and growing technologies due to their huge potential to increase recoverable reserves, to accelerate production and produced water treatment.

Speaker: Dr. Phaneendra Kondapi

Dr. Phaneendra Kondapi is an affiliate faculty at Colorado School of Mines in the Center for Hydrate Research and the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering. In his previous roles, he served as a founding director of engineering programs at UH and director of subsea engineering. He also served as the director of subsea engineering and professor of practice at Texas A&M University. Previously, he worked in the subsea processing group leading the flow management team at FMC Technologies and as a senior technical advisor at KBR. He is a distinguished member of SPE and recognised as a distinguished petroleum engineering faculty by SPE Gulf Coast North America.
