SPE FMTS is excited to be hosting a brand new webinar "Surface Well Testing Equipment" on November 5. This is the first webinar of the SPE FMTS Hosted Webinar Series, titled "Practical Aspects of Surface Well Testing".
Register here (https://lnkd.in/gahiTs3X).
The webinar is free for both SPE members and non-members. A recording will be available on SPE Energy Stream at a later date.
Description/Synopsis:
Surface Well Testing is a crucial process in Oil & Gas exploration, production and development. It is the means to assess the productivity and characteristics of wells, as well as reservoirs’ characterisation. Allowing for critical and costly decisions and investments to be made, which are heavily reliant/dependent on correct measurements leading to complete and accurate validated data.
With surface well testing’s main purpose being the gathering and measurement of parameters, the testing equipment should permit the means of acquiring data and measurements, efficiently, under controlled conditions and within a safe working environment.
This first webinar introduces the standard surface equipment used to conduct a well test; by providing the necessary well and flow control for fluid flow processing, measurements, and, ultimately, effluent disposal. We describe the combinations of equipment and their variations for different purposes, the testing unit layouts, equipment installation, and standard operating procedures, that lead to the safe and accurate acquisition and analysis of Flow Rates, Volumes, Pressures, Temperatures, and fluid compositions, within acceptable technical and commercial means.
The webinar series on Surface Well Testing aims to enhance the understanding of the equipment by detailing the specific processes and techniques for obtaining correct measurements, readings, and calculations that constitute the testing objectives.
Presenters, Paul Budworth and Abdullah Tanira are authors of the book “Surface Well Testing: A Practical Guide”. The webinar is moderated by FMTS Chairperson Amin Amin.
