Abstract:

The prevalence of mental illness is continuing to rise in Canada. The Oil and Gas industry has experienced some challenging times over the past few years, so the importance of emotional well-being and resilience is crucial in adapting to the ever-changing market. While the energy sector has a major focus on physical safety, this upcoming presentation will focus on emotional safety. The goal of the presentation will be to inform, educate, and impart strategies to increase mental wellness for employees.


Speaker Bio:

Chris Sciberras
is a Registered Provisional Psychologist with a Masters of Counselling from the University of Calgary and a Bachelors of Counselling from the Australian College of Applied Psychology. For the past decade, Chris has worked extensively with youth, adults, and families in a variety of capacities, with a focus on mental well-being and addiction recovery. Chris is the Mental Health Clinician and Program Director at the Calgary Dream Centre and works with clients in providing supports and resources in creating a life worth living.
