Abstract:

Free standing liner installation in a pre-existing pipeline is a common remediation technique for failed and failing pipelines. New pipeline materials, typically spoolable non-metallics, are pulled through the old line leaving a new pipeline in place at a far lower cost than traditional pipeline installation. A new emerging trend in SECUREs customer base is the purchase of discontinued and abandoned pipelines purely for use as conduit. In this presentation, SECURE will cover the following:

  • Freestanding Liner Process
  • Project Planning Basics
    • Overview of Product Selection
      • Composite Pipeline Materials
      • Small Diameter HDPE
      • Non-Spoolable Products (Large Diameter HDPE, and Fiberglass)
    • Clearances, Bends, Pull Lengths and Locating Bellholes
  • Common Failure Modes and Mitigation
  • SECURE Capabilities and ISO Certification
