Abstract

Thad will discuss the best strategies and most common pitfalls when navigating a data room in this Tom Petty themed presentation.  As borrowing bases are “Free Falling,” we expect lots of quality assets will change hands in 2021.  Before you go “Into the Great Wide Open,” Thad will “Breakdown” all of the “Walls” sellers put up to inflate the asset value.  No need to “Listen to Your Heart” when bidding on assets.  Thad will share his experiences on what you “Need to Know” to make your bids with confidence.

Biography

Thad Toups, P.E. is the President & Owner of Haas Engineering, in Dallas, Texas.

Since 1980, Haas Engineering has provided reservoir engineering and evaluation services to the Oil & Gas community. Thad has over 17 years of evaluation experience covering nearly all domestic plays and is considered a key resource by the industry in technology, data analysis, and reservoir engineering best practices. 

Prior to joining Haas Engineering in 2004, Thad worked as a process engineer for Citgo’s Corpus Christi refinery.

Thad received a Bachelor’s of Science in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University.  He is also a registered Professional Engineer in Texas and SPE member.
