Abstract

As the industry approaches the middle innings of the shale boom, Thad will discuss some of the challenges ahead including Parent-Child well concerns.  A case study on Parent-Child wells in the 2nd Bone Spring, Delaware Basin, will be presented to illustrate the impacts of well spacing, depletion, and frac stimulation on the Time to End of Liner Flow and ultimate recoveries.  Also, Thad will provide commentary on recent negative headlines associated with reserves write-downs and offer suggested methodology to ensure more accurate reserve estimation.
