Abstract:

Unconventional and conventional assets face many operational challenges related to flow assurance such as: corrosion, paraffin, scale, hydrates, field souring (H2S), fluid separation, plus many others.  This presentation will focus on the current operation challenges facing unconventional assets in the Eagle Ford, WolfCAMP, and Delaware.


Speaker Bio: 

Mr.  Gazawi has 17 years of experience in upstream and midstream oil and gas operations focusing on unconventional shale.  He is currently Petroleum Engineer Subject Matter Expert at Enhanced Recovery Partners.  He has worked in various petroleum engineering areas, including gas processing, fractionation, upstream production operation, water and CO2 flood, CO2 Recovery, Process Facility and Design, workover, Unconventional Re-Frac and Stimulation, flow assurance, asset integrity, and corrosion management.  He is currently vice president of NACE (National Association of Corrosion Engineering) Technical Exchange group TEG 202X (Flow Assurance in Oil and Gas), and Secretary of Standard Technical Group 31 (Scale and Corrosion Inhibition in Oil and Gas), he is also vice chair of SPE/AICHE flow assurance for offshore and unconventional.  Mr Gazawi holds Master of Science in Chemical Engineering, BS Chemical Engineering, Polymer Engineering Specialization from University of Akron Ohio, and Green Belt Six Sigma.
