Abstract:
Creating a prescriptive analytics framework for well completion optimization in unconventional resources (Permian Basin). The methodology involves 1) data ingestion 2) application of AutoML for generating an accurate machine learning model, and 3) optimization of decision parameters for minimizing an economic objective. Input parameters include well location, trajectory, artificial lift. Decision parameters include number of stages and amount of stimulation material. Speaker Bio: Tom Wilson is a Data Scientist at Baker Hughes. He graduated with a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2010 and an MS in Data Analytics from the University of Houston - Downtown in 2019. He spent 6 years in semiconductor process engineering in Austin, TX, 1 year consulting on completions optimization with BHGE in Houston, TX, and 1 year in BHGE drilling analytics in Houston, TX.
