Bob Pearson, P. Eng., is a subsurface advisor to oil and gas companies and investors. He is a former SPE Distinguished Lecturer on Optimized Gas-well Completions and Operations.
From 1970 to 1980, Bob Pearson worked for Shell International in S.E. Asia and The North Sea. He then moved to Petro-Canada (now Suncor) in Calgary. Since 1983, he has worked as a consultant, through RPS Energy and a predecessor company (APA Petroleum Engineering, which he co-founded).
From 2007 to 2015, he worked in Singapore and then Brisbane, primarily for RPS Energy. In 2015, he returned to Calgary, but continued to consult through his Australian company, Tactical Gas Services Pty. Ltd. However, all of his training and consulting work is now being handled through his Alberta Company: Glynn Resources Ltd.
Bob’s extensive experience includes Subsurface and Completions Engineering for Conventional and Unconventional Wells on land and offshore. He is actively involved in the provision of consulting services; as well as contributing for materials for the IHRDC IPIMs on-line training program. He facilitates several IHRDC training workshops on Integrated Exploration and Development Planning Processes.
Bob Pearson has a BSc. (Hons) in Mining Engineering from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne in the U.K. and is a member of APEGA and SPE.
