Drilling Automation - From Drilling 'Faster' to Drilling 'Smarter
by Mats Andersen, Alf Fredvik, NOV

Abstract

NOV Automation allows you to safely extend your operating limits, which helps utilize the full capabilities of your rig and can deliver significant spud-to-TD performance improvements. The technology developments and field experiences have changed from being all about ROP, to delivering consistency and repeatability, incorporating real-time pressure visualization for reservoir sections to be extended, and now enabling a complete digital workflow from plan via execution to reporting.
