I have great news; the Oklahoma City Section received the 2019 Section Excellence Award from SPEI! This is the 2nd highest award a section can receive, and I am so proud of our section’s achievement. This award will be presented at ATCE in Canada this month. Let’s keep the momentum going and aim for the Section President’s Award in 2020. I think it is very possible, as we have such a hard working and determined section with incredible members and an outstanding program.
As I stated earlier, our Section Committee Members work very hard, so I’ve decided to recognize a member each month that has done outstanding work. This month’s Committee Member Spotlight goes to Natalie Boggs. She led the Awards Banquet Committee this year and if you attended, you would know how awesome and well-attended the event was. Thank you, Natalie, for planning and executing the event beautifully.
As always, we have a list of outstanding events planned this month, so I will list some here but make sure to read through the entire Newsletter for all the details. Monthly Tech Talk (10/10), Monthly Luncheon (10/17 - Distinguished Lecturer), Monthly Study Group (10/29), SPE YP Golf Tournament (11/01). The Section’s fastest selling out event is our Mardi Gras Gala. So, make sure to save the date for our 2020 Mardi Gras Gala – Saturday, February 29th, 2020!
