Dear SPE OKC Family,
The last quarter of 2020 is upon us and we have a range of events planned for you for the remainder of the year. The speaker for our luncheon this month is a part of SPE’s Distinguished Lecture Series and we will also be hosting our Drilling Study Group this month. Here are the details of these events, that will be hosted virtually:
- Thursday, October 15 th | October Monthly Luncheon with Kyle Haustveit, to discuss “Making
Decisions Using Completions Diagnostic Tools in Unconventional Reservoirs”
- Thursday, September 22 nd | Drilling Study Group with Catalin Teodoriu to discuss the topic “A New Language for Drilling Operation: Talking to Humans and Machines”
We hosted our 27 th annual SPE OKC Sporting Clays Event at Quail Ridge Sporting Clays last month safely while honoring social distancing guidelines. It was great to see everyone enjoy the in-person event. We are grateful to the attendees for their participation - on behalf of SPE OKC, I’d like to thank them for their support. I also wanted to share an update regarding date and location of SPE annual awards banquet that had previously been postponed till Spring 2021 due to COVID-19. I am excited to announce that its planned to be held on April 5 th , 2021 at the Petroleum Club of Oklahoma City as a joint event with the welcome reception of our biennial Oil & Gas Symposium. We invite you to celebrate our award winners together with us and welcome our 2021 Oil & Gas Symposium attendees. I look forward to hosting you at this event and we will keep you updated on the details as we get closer.
This past month, our Young Professionals group partnered with SPE-OU to organize a resume workshop to benefit OU students. Thanks to our volunteers, we were able to help a significant number of students virtually via one-on-one discussions. We are truly grateful to our volunteers who made this effort successful despite the limitations due to COVID-19 and enabled us to support the students during this critical time. I also want to thank our YP group on a job well done. We continue to look for other opportunities to help our students and will let you know of future events.
Our YP group will also be hosting the 13th Annual SPE-YP Golf Tournament at Lincoln Park Golf Course on Friday, November 6th . Further events details can be found below. We hope to see you there.
