Dear SPE OKC Family,
Hope you all are doing well and enjoying some normality in weather as we recover from the arctic blast. I’d like to thank all our emergency workers, first responders and the oil & gas workers who were crucial to providing much needed help and resources during the storm.
We continue our technical program as virtual (zoom) sessions open to everyone free of cost so we hope that you will attend these and benefit from the diverse lineup of topics that we have planned for discussion. For our monthly (virtual) luncheon, we will be hosting Tanhee Galindo, Co-owner of GeoKimika Oil and Gas. We are also hosting our geosciences study group this month where Faye Liu, Founder and CEO, RevoChem LLC will be presenting. Both the aforementioned events will be virtual zoom meetings around topics that are very unique and we look forward to a productive discussion.

I’d also like to thank the volunteers who helped with resume reviews of the OU and OSU student resume workshops this past month. Their efforts are extremely important in providing students with the much-needed support in the current downturn and SPE-OKC is very fortunate to have such members who are always willing to help.
As announced last month, we hope to host our Annual Mardi Gras Gala as the Masquerade Ball for the benefit of Willow Springs Boys Ranch at Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club on August 21st, 2021 as our first in-person event of the year (barring any COVID related issues). We hope to see you all there and continue our community’s longstanding tradition of supporting the Willow Springs Boys Ranch. I’ve included a registration link here:

Quick reminder that SPE continues to offer discounted renewals for members in transition so I encourage you to email service@spe.org if you run into any issues or have specific questions regarding the specials being offered. SPE is also now providing 6 free OnePetro downloads valid thru 12/31/21 when renewing. I also request all our members to update their email addresses on their SPE account profile on the website to ensure that we can reach out with pertinent information of benefit to you. With many of our members either having switched jobs or in-transition, we recommend using a non-work email address to ensure continuity of communication.
