Warm Greetings from your new SPE-OKC board
Hi Everyone,
My name is Danish Tarar and I have been elected to serve as chairman of SPE-OKC for the 2020-21 session. Having been a part of its board in various roles over the past six years, I’ve seen firsthand the caliber, dedication and drive of the volunteers that has shaped numerous programs and events aimed at supporting its membership and the E&P industry. So, I consider it a great honor to be a part of not only one of the best SPE chapters but also of the wonderful OKC community.
With the recent flare-up in COVD-19 cases, we have decided not to hold any in-person events during the month of July out of abundance of caution and concern for the safety of our attendees. However, we do have live virtual events scheduled throughout the month. These talks have an extremely diverse line-up of strong speakers and we look forward to hosting you at these free webinars open to everyone. Here is a list of these upcoming events for your reference:

In addition, we also plan to host the 27th Annual SPE OKC Sporting Clays Event in-person at the Quail Ridge Sporting Clays on 9/18/2020 while honoring the social distancing guidelines. Barring any changes due to the COVID situation, we are excited to see everyone in person at this event.
The final list of SPE award recipients has been announced and several of winners for the Mid-Continent North America Region are part of the SPE OKC Executive Committee. I’d like to recognize them for their tremendous contribution and congratulate them on this accomplishment. We hope to celebrate our winners with everyone at our Annual Awards Banquet on Friday September 25th, 2020 at the Oak Tree Country Club. We hope you can join us in recognizing the winners for their hard work and look forward to hosting you for a wonderful evening in celebration. I’d like to also really thank those who nominated their peers, for their time, effort and consideration.
In addition to the aforementioned awards, the Oklahoma State University Student Chapter won the Student Chapter Excellence Award. SPE OKC congratulates the OSU chapter on this achievement and we hope to continue supporting it as a sponsoring section for the chapter.
It’s an unprecedented time for the world and especially our industry. As we chart our path through these uncertain times, SPE OKC is dedicated now more than ever to serving the needs of the community.
