Happy New Year Everybody!
The SPE OKC Section Committee is looking forward to a new and bright year, 2020! We have many goals and events planned to set us apart and provide the most useful technical content to our members. One of our goals this year is to get more members from our section nominated for awards. We need your help! There are two different categories for awards: Technical and Professional. These awards help recognize our members for their “technical contributions, professional excellence, career achievement, service to colleagues, industry leadership, and public service”. The more nominations from our section, the higher the chances for our section to win awards and be recognized for all of the hard work! The January Committee Member Spotlight goes to Jacob Ungetheim with Continental Resources. Jacob is the Production Study Group Chair. If you’ve attended one of the Production Study Groups, you know how well the events have gone. The speakers he selects are always very knowledgeable and technically proficient who lead relevant and quality discussions for our members.
This month’s Luncheon we are hosting Leen Weijers, VP of Engineering at Liberty Oilfield Services. The title of his presentation is “Frac Trends in US Liquid-Rich shale Plays”. Leen is a 2020-2021 Distinguished Lecturer so we are excited to host him before his tour begins later this year. Please remember that we are hosting the January Luncheon at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club.
On Saturday, January 11th, 2020 we will be hosting our very first Cycle Class event! We thought this would be a wonderful way to kick off the new year together. Come out and cycle with us for a 45-minute ride and enjoy a champagne toast and mimosas after the exercise class to cheers the New Year. The 14th Annual Mardi Gras Gala will be hosted Saturday, February 29th, 2020. This fun event sells out quickly so if you’re interested in attending make sure to purchase your tickets soon.
