The Latin America and Caribbean regional qualifiers of the SPE students paper contest will be conducted 24 May 2019 in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. In the undergraduate category a total of 37 abstracts were submitted of which 11 are invited to compete in the regional qualifiers. In the MSc category 7 abstracts were received and invited and in the PhD category 4 abstracts were received and invited.
Ms Reyna Frijde, with abstract title “The impact of deviating events during the gravel packing process on the well productivity”, and Ms Felitchia Fryde with abstract title “Determination of the effectiveness of the cement isolation plugs in open-hole completed wells” , are the two BSc students of ADEK university who have been selected for competing in the undergraduate category in Santa Cruz. Both students their submitted abstracts were based on their final thesis project which they both did at Staatsolie, sub surface TNW department.
