Description:

24 - 25 September 2018 | School Supply Drive
Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center
650 S Griffin Street
Dallas, Texas 75202

With ATCE being the largest conference for SPE members, it is a great opportunity for many of us to give back to the community that graciously hosts us for the week. Active involvement in local community service encourages positive press for the oil and gas industry and sets the stage for SPE members to develop meaningful networks. In 2016, SPE launched a new initiative called SPE Cares, a SPE Community Service initiative, aimed at promoting, supporting and participating in charitable, education, humanitarian and social community services at the Section and Student Chapter’s level.

The initiative not only aims to hold events/activities at ATCE, but to recognize the community service that SPE members are already conducting in their respective student chapters and professional sections worldwide.

This year at ATCE Dallas, SPE Cares will conduct a School Supply Drive to help support local schools participating in STEM programs. These programs facilitate curriculums with the intent to educate students in science, technology, engineering and math. More importantly these programs create a learning model based on real-world application.

Volunteer Requirements:

Volunteers are asked to help procure items for the school supply drive. Items include: notebooks, binders, folders, pens, pencils, sharpies, highlighters, erasers, glue sticks, colored pencils, markers, calculators, and backpacks. Please collect these goods in the weeks leading up to ATCE. Items will need to be delivered no later than 23 September 2018.

Volunteers are also asked to stop by our designated booth throughout ATCE to help put together care packages. This item should take no longer than 5-10 minutes per volunteer, and can be accomplished during coffee breaks, lunch, and while visiting the pavilion booths.

**Please note that this volunteer opportunity does not have funding available to assist with travel or attendance at ATCE.
