Description:

SPE has needs volunteers to join our The Way Ahead (TWA) publication team!

We need volunteers younger than 36 years of age with good writing skills, who are interested in writing articles discussing industry trends and technology, editing other editors’ articles, and sourcing articles from industry experts.

About. TWA is written by and for young professionals in the upstream oil and gas industry, and began publication as a magazine in 2005. In 2016, TWA evolved from a print magazine published three times per year, to an online resource for students and young professionals. As part of this evolution, content from prior issues is available online and new content is post more frequently. It includes articles on technical topics, oil and gas business, and career development. Currently, TWA contains 13 departments with specific content requirements.

Expectations. Volunteers are asked to commit to the team for a minimum of one-year (preferably three-years), comply with production deadlines, and be open to brainstorming, writing, sourcing authors, and editing others' written work. The application process requires volunteers to upload a Resume/CV and a one-page letter addressed to the Managing Editor that explains why you want to join the TWA team and how you feel you will provide value. Resume/CV will be reviewed by the TWA leadership team to confirm skills and experience. Team members can expect this experience to improve their leadership, time management, and communication skills.
