CALL FOR PAPERS:
We are pleased to announce a call for papers for this year’s joint AAPG/SPE Eastern Regional Meeting in Pittsburgh, PA. The meeting will take place on October 7 – 11, 2018 and will be hosted by the Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh Downtown.
SPE members help us put together a superb technical program by submitting your paper abstracts on health, safety, security, environment and social responsibility concerns, hydraulic fracturing, oilfield chemistry, improvements to drilling, completions, and production processes, new technologies, case histories, reservoir and production evaluations, simulations, and novel analyses, well testing, large database analytics, best practices, and well economics including cost control and capital efficiency.
We encourage first time authors, both senior and young professionals, to step up and take the plunge. You don’t have to do it all yourself. Team up with a friend or colleague and collaborate. There are resources galore through SPE to assist you in achieving a quality paper and can be found at the SPE paper submittal webpage. All manuscripts will posted on OnePetro.org.
The Pittsburgh Section of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) will be collaborating with the Eastern Section of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) to host the 2018 AAPG – SPE Joint Eastern Meeting in downtown Pittsburgh, PA, on October 7-11, 2018. We expect in excess of 500 industry professionals to attend this event.
As the honored hosts of this event, we are seeking sponsorships to help defray the cost of the meeting, and to support both parties extensive scholarship and philanthropic programs. For example, the SPE Pittsburgh Section has been able to award over $30,000 in scholarships per year to our supporting student chapters (University of Pittsburgh, Penn State University, and St. Francis University).
All sponsors will receive wide recognition throughout the technical program, to include all social functions in the exhibit hall. This should be an excellent opportunity for you to put your company’s name in front of a large, select, targeted audience. If attending, it is also a great opportunity to make new contacts within the industry for our young engineers, future engineers, and seasoned professionals alike. Further, you will find the technical sessions and workshops to be quite interesting, informative, and relevant to the Appalachian basin.
