FSubsea

FSubsea was set up in June 2013 as a subsea technology spin-off from Fuglesangs AS (est. 1916). Our strategy is to provide the most autonomous, modular and robust boosting systems for the global subsea process, unmanned offshore, subsea drilling and deep sea excavation markets.

Out of our facilities in Oslo, Norway, we have supplied more than 40 pumps intended for the deep seas to date. Right now, we are qualifying the world’s first series of VSD-less and Barrier Fluid-less subsea pumps, together with three major Oil & Gas operators.

Heavelock

Heavelock™ is developing an autonomous downhole choke valve, able to manipulate mud flow through the drill string, thus cancelling out pressure variations around the drill bit. If implemented, the Heavelock™ technology can bring substantial savings to MPD operations from floating drilling units through a reduction of non-productive time (NPT) due to waiting on weather (WOW) events and will thus also lead to considerable reductions in CO2 footprint of offshore drilling operations. This is especially relevant for Northern Norway with deep waters and rough weather, but also on mature fields with sensitive reservoirs, such as Troll. Heavelock™ technology has its roots at NTNU and the development work is supported by Statoil, Innovation Norway and Research Council of Norway. First tests of a pilot-scale prototype are due to be carried out this spring at Ullrigg in Svavanger.
