Abstract
The Oklahoma City Geological Society, Society of Petroleum Engineers, Society of Geophysicists, and Society of Independent Professional Earth Scientists are pleased to announce a one-day educational seminar focused on providing attendees with the information needed to start and operate a successful independent oil & gas company. This seminar is designed for Geologists, Landmen, Engineers and anyone else who is interested in running their own oil & gas company.
The seminar will include specific information concerning working mature, complex areas. It will also cover how to use the OCGS Geological Library and how to operate your business without a large computer system, as well as how to work with and enhance commercial data. Information on leases and contracts as well as how to prepare, present and sell a deal will be covered. Several successful professionals and business owners will share their experiences and provide advice. The seminar will conclude with a panel discussion between the experts and the audience. If you have ever considered running your own business, this is the perfect opportunity to learn from those that have walked that path and succeeded.

Thanks to the contributions of several generous individuals who are committed to making this course as open and affordable as possible, the seminar fee has been reduced to $25 for the full day. Attendees will be given materials on a thumb drive, including forms, sample letters and other valuable information which you need to get your new business started.
