Digital Oilfield as a Practice has been garnering intense visibility in the market place, vis-à-vis the number of conferences being held in the region. The presentation will cover the “What and Why” of Digital Oilfield Technologies that will add value and discuss some case studies as such.

Abstract:
Mr. McLean is currently Senior Technology Advisor Eastern Hemisphere for Weatherford Production Systems. He has conceived and initiated several large scale Digital Oilfield projects, starting in Canada for PanCanadian Petroleum full field automation of all gas well assets, Wascana Energy Canada for 25 Oil and Gas assets, Artificial Lift Optimization projects for ARCO ESP, BP Alaska ESP and Gas Lift, and BP Lower 48 Plunger Lift optimization expert system development lead, Consultant to Conoco Phillips Canada for Full Field Optimization for all Canadian Operations, recently for ADMA OPCO automating 85 offshore platforms, Joint Operations Wafra Kuwait Optimizing 880 Rod Pumped and ESP Wells, and most recently the KOC Burgan Kwidf (Kuwait Integrated Digital Oilfield) GC-1 project.
He has been active in the SPE community, various ATW’s and Committees including 2012 Production Operations Conference Doha Qatar, SPE Intelligent Energy 2012 Executive Committee
Mr. McLean obtained his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in Canada in 1977 and has been active in digital oilfields consulting and projects for 35 years.
