Production, Facilities and Construction SIG: Repurposing Discontinued and Abandoned Pipelines as Conduit for Pipeline Installation
Abstract:Free standing liner installation in a pre-existing pipeline is a common remediation technique for failed and failing pipelines. New pipeline materials, typically spoolable non-metallics, are pulled through the old line leaving a new pipeline in place at a far lower cost than traditional pipeline installation. A new emerging trend in SECUREs customer base is the purchase of discontinued and abandoned pipelines purely for use as conduit. In this presentation, SECURE will cover the following:

Glynn Pearson is an experienced Oil and Gas business development professional, currently working as a Representative for SECURE Energy Services Pipeline division. Prior to SECURE, Glynn was at an independent composite pipeline and freestanding liner installation company following a successful stint at Flexpipe Systems (Shawcor), selling their products and working on larger scale business development. Glynn holds an MBA from Royal Roads University and wrote his Organizational Consulting Project (thesis) on the business issues surrounding Enhanced Oil Recovery using CO2 in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin.
