Speaker Bio:

Betty Turowec joined 3M in 2014 under Corporate R&D, after completing a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemical Engineering, both at The University of Western Ontario. During her first role with 3M, she was stationed in Calgary, AB as part of the Mining, Oil and Gas Team. Betty focused on taking existing 3M technology and applying it to the Oil and Gas Industry. Through her demonstrated leadership, collaboration and initiative, she successfully advanced three internal new product introduction (NPI) programs; through these efforts, she co-authored two patents. Betty also worked to understand markets and the customer, while deriving value propositions to obtain end-user buy-in. Her current position as Application Development Engineer has her providing support for the Fire Protection Team under 3M’s Industrial Adhesives and Tapes Division.

Mark Hanania joined 3M in 2011 as a Specified Solutions Engineer. He currently has 20 years of oil and gas experience and 2 years in commercial and industrial settings. Also stationed in Calgary, Alberta, Mark works mainly with EPC companies to build 3M products into company standards. Mark’s experience is predominantly with fire protection, electrical cable accessories, pipeline coatings, concrete anchors, steel fasteners and secondary steel building supports. Finally, Mark received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Minor in Computer Integrated Manufacturing at the University of Calgary.
