ABSTRACT: As more of us get involved with boilers for steam generation, it is getting more and more critial that we understand and promote operating practices that ensure safe, efficient, and profitable operations.

BIO: Jolene Person has a background in refineries, upgrading, gas plants, chemical plants, SAGD thermal facilities, power generation, and steel mills. She has been responsible for managing several chemical transitions of cooling and boiler systems, as well as, training new employees in the areas of pretreatment, boilers and cooling water as well as safety requirements. She has worked extensively with customer/third party engineering teams during the engineering and design phases of new projects. She has been heavily involved in new chemical program modeling and toxicity testing for environmentally sensitive projects. She has also been responsible for recommending passivation procedures at start up, equipment inspections during outages, and hydraulic monitoring of cooling water exchangers. She is an Industry Technical Consultant with expertise in:

  • Clarification
  • Softeners, demineralizers, degasifiers, mixed bed polishers
  • Reverse osmosis
  • 50 – 1500 psi normal duty boilers
  • 2000 psi once through steam generators
  • Open recirculating and closed loop cooling water systems
  • Condensate systems/treatment, polishers
  • Primary and secondary clarification (including biological treatment)
  • Exchanger monitoring
  • Offshore system analyses
