Abstract

For many years, our industry has been dominated by the dependence of foreign oil sources and the changing political landscape within OPEC. New technology and innovation in extracting oil and gas in North America has unlocked previously uneconomic resources, resulting in what some may call the first steps to energy independence. Mr. Stephen Molina has been speaking about the phenomena of U.S. energy independence, and more specifically, a U.S./Mexico/Canadian dominance of the global oil and gas industry for years. It appears that the creation of this North American OPEC is finally here.
