Abstract
Rod pumping systems using pumping units and sucker rods are the most common form of artificial lift. Surface dynamometer cards control gear box loading, rod loading, power consumption, and pumping conditions. Predictive programs such as SROD and RODSTAR calculate the Permissible Load Diagram and Surface Dyno Card to indicate how well the system design can work. The presentation will discuss ways to improve the system.
