Last News from the 2012 LACPEC!!


Brazil Section was very well represented on the last edition of LACPEC, held in Mexico City on April 15th-18th.

Petrobowl. PUC-Rio, represented by Daniel Melo, Eduardo Barros, Gabriel Rabello and Rafael Albuquerque won the 2nd place in Regional Edition of Petrobowl!

Student Paper Contest. Twelve students from Undergraduate and four from graduate division competed on the Paper Contest, representing different countries in Latin America. 
On the Undergraduate Division, Ricardo Freitas Filho, from UNICAMP received the 1st place and Daniel Melo, from PUC-Rio received the 2nd place. On the Graduate Division, Nara Policarpo and Janete Alina Vargas, both from UNICAMP, received the 1st and 2nd place, respectively.
 
2nd Regional SC Meeting. Brazil Section was represented by UFRJ students

Regional Awards. Flavia M. G. Villarroel from Baker Hughes received the Regional Outstanding Young Member Award, Maurício Belém Figueiredo also from Baker Hughes received the Regional Service Award and João Carlos Ribeiro Plácido from Petrobras received the Regional Drilling Engineering Award.
