Our Events

SPE Bergen member meetings
The core of our activities are our member meetings. We host 6-8 meetings every year. Through the SPE's Distinguished Lecturers Program, we are able to offer you the very best technical presentations from all over the world right here in Bergen. In addition to the DL, a local presentation is offered on every meeting, giving the meetings a local touch. Local presentations also gives you the possibility to get to know a little bit more about what is moving on the peak of technological development right here in Bergen.

Member meetings starts with a social hour and ends with a dinner, nicely encapsulating the technical content with excellent networking opportunities. Typically, the meetings are visited by 30-60 people, including student members.

SPE Bergen One Day Seminar
The annual SPE Bergen One Day Seminar is our largest event during the year. The international combined technical conference and exhbition is held in Grieghallen, Bergen, every spring and is visited by roughly 500 delegates.

The conference offers multiple full-day parallel sessions of technical presentations. The exhibition covers some 2000 m2, and some 40 companies are represented with exhibition stands. The event also features a Young Professionals session. The seminar is unique in many ways. One of them is of course that it only spans one day (hence the name) which makes the seminar very compact.

SPE Bergen Sailing
Every May, we host the SPE Bergen Sailing with Statsraad Lehmkuhl. The annual sailing is always a sell-out, and some 350 participants including students enjoy a full evening at sea with excellent food, drinks and networking.

SPE Bergen Lutefisk
Another steady tradition is our annual Lutefisk dinner in November. Some 150 participants enjoy the Lutefisk with its proper add-ons. This is Norwegian pre-Christmas culture at its best, and always a great success.
