Researchers Night

SPE Stavanger Young Professionals in collaboration with SPE Stavanger invites you to a night dedicated to petroleum research in the Stavanger Area.

Several institutions will give us a glimpse of their most exciting projects, along with promising students from the University of Stavanger and other research fellows.

UiS –  Several shorter presentations

Bio Dmitrii Zhambrovskii

Dmitrii Zhambrovskii holds a B.Sc. in Petroleum Technology from Murmansk State Technical University (MSTU). In 2012 he had a summer internship in the Shtokman Development AG branch in Teriberka, and has since been granted a Statoil scholarship. He is now with AICD development in Student Incubator, UiS office under the supervision of Mr. Francisco Porturas (MSc in Geoscience) and Rasmus Gjesing (Phd Valide). Dmitrii was granted a scholarship by SPE Stavanger for presenting his paper “Electrical Resistivity Autonomous Inflow Control Device ER-AICD” (SPE-185682-MS)  at SPE Western Regional Meeting in Bakersfield 21-27 April 2017.

Bio Ying Guo

Ying Guo holds MSc in Reservoir Engineering from University of Stavanger and PhD in Petroleum Engineering from The Norwegian University of Science and Technology. She has more than 25 years working experiences within E&P industry in the areas of SCAL, reservoir modelling and EOR at IRIS, software development for DISKOS’ Petrobank, and research management at Total Norge AS. She have been COREC program manager since 2015. Ying is also engaged in OG21/TTA2, SPE’s program committee for Reservoir Simulation Conference, and NPF’s program committee for Field Reservoir Management.

Bio Gunnstein Sælevik

Gunnstein Sælevik has about 15 years’ experience within drilling and well from operating companies, service companies, start-ups and research. He has competence within modelling and post analysis of the drilling process, mainly applied to the Norwegian Continental Shelf. He has conducted several studies for external companies around new technology and operational guide lines.

Bio Hans Joakim Skadsem

Hans Joakim Skadsem is a senior research engineer in the drilling and well modelling group at IRIS and is project manager for the Cementing irregular wellbore geometries project. Skadsem has background from theoretical physics at NTNU, Trondheim, and worked as senior consultant at Scandpower and DNV prior to joining IRIS. His current research interests include fluid mechanics, wellbore flows and non-Newtonian rheology.

Bio Merete Vadla Madland

Merete Vadla Madland is professor in reservoir technology at the University of Stavanger. In autumn 2013 she was appointed Director of The National IOR Centre of Norway. She holds a Dr. ing.-degree in geomechanics from the University of Stavanger and has been supervising more than 150 undergraduate and graduate students. The last 17 years she has worked on developing new methods for effective extraction of oil from reservoir rocks. She has been heading several research projects funded by the Research Council of Norway as well as a number of industry funded projects. Her research focuses on understanding the physical and chemical interactions between rocks and fluids on the pore and core (nano/micro) scale and how these can be transferred to the field (macro) scale. Her work has led to SR Bank’s Innovation Award in 2010, the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate’s IOR prize in 2010 as part of the COREC team, Lyse’s Research Award in 2013, and her research is presented in more than 100 scientific publications. She has given several keynote presentations at national and international conferences/symposiums. Madland has served on numerous boards. She has been member of the Programme Board/Expert Committee for FRINATEK and OG21 Board since 2014 and 2017, respectively.
