Dear SPE Oslo friends,
On June 4th, we in the SPE Oslo section hosted our second annual seminar, supported by PwC and Oslo Børs. This year’s topic was Financing E&P companies and projects and with a number of wonderful speakers and more than 90 participants, the event was a great success.
As summer is all around and summer holidays just around the corner, it is now time to round off this year’s SPE Oslo season. For the past ten months we have invited professionals in the petroleum business in and around Oslo to a total of six dinner meetings, four lunch meetings and one full-day seminar. We have had the great privilege of meeting interesting and dedicated speakers, we have visited new venues for great food and wine and we have enjoyed both technical and social discussions with old and new friends.
Throughout the season, we have also had very active student and young professional chapters. The SPE Oslo young professionals continue to host quiz and dinner events to establish a vibrant petroleum environment in Oslo for people up till 35 years.. The students have further succeeded to extend their regular program with a local student full day seminar and early spring they also hosted their annual spring games event.
None of the events mentioned above would be possible without the support from local SPE Oslo sponsors. On behalf of the SPE Oslo member base I would like to extend our great appreciation to all our sponsors for the 13/14 season. Further, all work in our section is handled on a volunteer basis and I would also like to thank all the volunteer SPE Oslo board members for their efforts and dedication.
The new SPE Oslo 14/15 season will kick off early September and info will follow in due time both on this webpage and in member emails. We look forward to seeing both old and new friends for a vibrant new season and we promise exciting events. Until then; enjoy a fantastic summer and have a great vacation!
