 Meet some of our Young Professional members!


Abhijit Mitra is currently employed as a Staff Scientist in New England Research, Inc. based on White River Junction, Vermont. Before that, he worked with Schlumberger for two and half year as a Geomechanics Engineer working in TerraTek Geomechanics Center of Excellence at Salt Lake City, Utah. His chief responsibilities included advising clients in designing rock mechanics testing program aimed at determining in-situ stress, wellbore stability and sanding, compaction and subsidence. Abhijit worked with a number of clients including independent oil
  and gas operators, large international operators and academia. He also managed testing program workflow, performed laboratory testing, conducted analysis, interpretation and quality control of test results and presented results to clients. His areas of expertise include geomechanics of conventional and unconventional reservoir and flow through porous media. He holds B.S. and M.S. in Mining Engineering, both from Bengal Engineering & Science University, India and PhD in Engineering Science from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale.
