  • How to attend a lecture or workshop

We are looking forward to seeing you at one of our events - e.g. an evening lecture or a half-day workshop in Hannover or Munich. If you haven’t attended one before, here is what you can expect: - Lectures are usually by a global or national expert in the respective field and usually last about an hour, with some 30min discussion afterwards. The audience ranges from the interested layman to other experts in the same field. Several participants are usually engineers whose work is related to the topic, but there are also plenty of general-interest engineers, students, and non-members participating. - Workshops are really 4-hour extended lectures with lots of discussion. - Most of us stay for dinner afterwards and enjoy that a lot - These are not in-crowd events. Newcomers (and non-members) are very welcome. You won’t feel out-of-place. - Some events are in German, some in English. You know by the language of the event title. - There is a fee for lectures 25/30/10 for membes/non-members/students+retirees. This includes dinner. You pay cash when you arrive. It’s also possible to wire it ahead. - While we usually accept walk-ins, we ask for registration a few days ahead. This is to help us plan room size and dinner sets to order in advance and keeping cost down. While you may see registration links on this website, these are temporary technical glitches unfortunately leading nowhere. Registration is by email or phone to Ulrike.McVean@bakerhughes.com 05141-203-226 for Hannover events or to sekretariat@bauchemie.ch.tum.de 089-289-13151 for Munich events. Most of our events are in North-East Hannover, Park-Inn Hotel, Oldenburger Allee 2. That’s close to the intersection A2+A37. That’s why we chose it – accessibility. Sometimes we move to Hotel Hennies 2km down the road. In Munich, our events usually are at the TUM in Garching and the format is similar.
